A Sustained Improvement in Safety Performance
GTE’s safety performance improved dramatically in 2019 despite significantly increased operations activity. Safety inspections, emergency drills, involving workers’ families, improving daily routines and reducing risk tolerance across operations sites
all contributed to an improved culture of safety throughout the organization, resulting in the best safety record in the history of the company.
The company’s 2019 LTIF of 0.02 incidents per 200,000 hours worked was 80% below the industry average for Latin American exploration and production companies in 2018, as reported by the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers.
